DMF-free silica gel is silica gel free of any trace of dimethyl fumarate (DMF), a chemical formerly utilized as a mold inhibitor but presently prohibited in most countries for its toxic and allergenic properties. DMF-free silica gel is a non-toxic, odorless, safe desiccant employed to manage humidity and thwart moisture damage in various products such as pharmaceuticals, foods, textiles, electronics, and consumer products. It is commonly supplied in bead form white (non-indicating) or orange (indicating) and in breathable paper, Tyvek, or non-woven fabric sachets. With a moisture absorption value up to 30-35% of its weight, DMF-free silica gel offers firm security and is fully in compliance with international health and safety regulations, particularly those in the European Union.
