Pink color silica gel beads are a non-toxic, environmentally safe desiccant employed in the regulation of moisture and humidity-related damage. They are manufactured from amorphous silicon dioxide with a moisture indicator that enables them to shift color from pink when in dry condition to light blue or pale violet while absorbing moisture, providing a visible indication of saturation. In contrast to conventional blue indicating silica gel, pink beads are cobalt-free and therefore more secure for use in sensitive applications like food packaging, pharmaceuticals, and electronics. The beads are generally 1-4 mm in diameter and are capable of absorbing 30-35% of their weight in moisture at high humidity levels. They are frequently filled into breathable sachets constructed from materials such as Tyvek, non-woven material, or paper, offering visible and effective moisture protection in many storage and packaging situations.
